Working with Celebrate LifeHello adventurers. My name is Veralice. I like to take photos, video, and capture as many memories as possible. I like to enhance, re-imagine and distribute those memories. In this manner, I am able to assist Celebrate Life, its collaborators, customers, and friends. (Here's a link to some work I have done.) "I am a part of this small but powerful team." I am a part of this small but powerful team. I joined Patrick, Oceanna, and the rest of the team during the second half of 2017. I haven't been around too long, but within the short few months I have been here--I have seen a lot. I, a young adult highly integrated in the world of technology and social media, don't always spend a lot of time outdoors. I don't do it on purpose, but with my skills and my hobbies being largely backed up by the atmosphere indoors--after all, I did major in film and digital media--do not often get to play out in the fresh air. However, with Celebrate Life, I have been exposed to new landscapes. I do not particularly see myself fitting in 100% into the role of the "outdoors wanderer" but find that seeing new ground, breathing in new fresh air, and experiencing different terrain has rewarded me with a new understanding of my own backyard. I believe that all new experiences teach us something, whether small or big, and it helps us reach bigger and better versions of ourselves. In working with a small group, I have felt a lot of kindness and appreciation. In working with youngsters, adults older than me, and elder folks has given me a better understanding on the concept of connection, the creation of relationships and the notion of familiarity. As an introvert, I thrive indoors away from too much company. Nevertheless, working with new faces just about every time I help out Celebrate Life with their excursions, has exposed me to new opportunities to grow. The idea of sharing, listening, and communicating has never seemed so great to me as it does now. I do not share all the time and I am still very selective of when I decide to share my ideas, visions, feelings, etc. but it has become an easier process when I know that my opinions or thoughts may benefit a situation. It's beneficial to communicate, not only to avoid misunderstandings, confusion, or messy situations but to also learn, build, harness, and thrive in stronger and better relationships. "I expect to keep growing and to keep learning and exploring new surroundings." For this reason, I wanted to share today--with my first official blog post on the Celebrate Life website--that it has been an interesting but positive experience seeing my world in a different perspective and learning to live with an improved version of myself. I expect to keep growing and to keep learning and exploring new surroundings. I may not have been a participant of any Celebrate Life program in particular, but have worked with and observed groups participating in these activities and feel like it has brought me to a different place. I can only imagine what kind of impression a program like Celebrate Life might have left on me if I would have participated in it as a youngster. Although short, I want to end my post here today. My hope is that I will be able to come back again and share some more, whether it be another open post such as this one or a more serious informational post. I also want to invite you to pen out some words(or like in my case, type out) and reflect on your day, accomplishments, or anything else important to you that is worth your time. You don't have to share it. You don't have to read it outloud. You don't even have to let anyone know, but try it. Write and explore yourself. I think you'd be surprised at how mature you might sound on paper.
